Karthikeyan (Arjun), is a photographer cum News editor working in Indian Express. Chitra (Meena) is a bank employee. Both reside at Mumbai. Karthik meets Chitra in the bank she works while opening a bank account.
Both of them have accidentally lost their spouse and finally getting united by the widowed women(meena)'s son friendship with Karthik(Arjun).
The movie is still considered to be one among the best dramatic movie in the Indian Film Industry.
